Overview
The Model 811 Series is our most popular doppler for hospital service. Many of these units have been in use for over 25 years. Used extensively in the OR intraoperatively and for lower limb and arm systolic blood pressure measurements post-op and on the ward.
The Doppler is used for monitoring blood flow acoustically and for making blood-pressure measurements indirectly using an inflatable cuff. The method is like that used on humans; the Doppler substitutes for the stethoscope. Systolic pressure is measured by reading the manometer when the blood flow first returns as cuff pressure is lowered. However, only systolic pressure is usually measured.
